Research & Outreach

Research Experience Opportunities

Many EPSCoR jurisdictions offer opportunities for research experiences with sponsored programs and their laboratories for graduate students, undergraduate students, high school students, teachers, and others. For graduate students, there are many opportunities to network, to use new equipment and learn new techniques on topics of interest. Often these experiences provide a first opportunity to students for potential career pathways while learning about exciting cutting-edge and emerging concepts in STEM. Programs are often designed to support two-way learning between K-12 teachers and college faculty to help streamline the learning process. For more information, contact state EPSCoR EOD officers.

Tying Education and Research

EPSCoR Jurisdictions are tasked with tying major research focus areas with educational activities and efforts. EPSCoR supported programs are designed with the specific purpose and intent to tie education with research concepts. There are two modes of thought: First, innovative research concepts can add dimension to educational modules and learning. Second, rigorous research can contribute to the solution of significant problems in education. When considering collaboration with an EPSCoR EOD program, please consider how you might play a role in developing elements that may further this very important connection (e.g., creating class models or student labs based on research topics, study of the relevance and student understanding of research concept, etc.). For more information, contact state EPSCoR EOD officers.

Sabbaticals and Partnership Opportunities

Often EPSCoR Research Centers sponsor opportunities for faculty and private sector research collaborations.

EPSCoR Workforce Programs, Statistics, and Research

One of the primary goals of EPSCoR programs is to encourage educational opportunities for workforce development by identifying and stimulating state strategic economic growth areas.

Evaluation Opportunities & Research

A critical and growing component of Education, Outreach and Diversity Programs is identifying and implementing proper forms of evaluation, including setting performance metrics.
